2016 Collaborative Performance with Ruth Souza and Elise Preiss
Souza (center), Preiss (right), and I (knitting at left) performed at the Muse/ique Chamber Orchestra's concert, String/Awakening, a celebration of the "ancient mystical technology of strings" from musical instruments to physic's "theory of everything."
Our performance was a nod to the Three Fates, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, who spin, weave, and cut the thread of life. Preiss carded wool that Souza spun into yarn, while I knit brightly colored hats for us to wear, unravel, and continuously reknit throughout the 90 minute concert.
